Your Contact List

How do I add a contact?

There are two methods of adding contacts:

  1. Click "Contacts" in the blue bar and click the "New card" link. In the "Add new contact" box on the right, enter an alias for your contact in the "Display name" field, and fill in the First Name, Last Name and E-mail fields with the corresponding information.

    OR

  2. If you would like to add a contact directly from an e-mail you are already reading, click the plus (+) icon next to the address you would like to add from the fields at the top of the message.

How do I edit contacts?

Go to your Contacts and select the contact you would like to edit. In the contact information box on the right, click the "Edit contact" button and make your changes. When you are done, click "Save".

How do I delete a contact?

In your Contacts list, select the contact you would like to delete and click the "Delete" link. A dialogue box will appear for you to confirm the deletion.

CAUTION: Be certain that you have selected the correct contact. Once a contact is deleted, it cannot be retreived.

How do I use my Contacts to add recipients when sending e-mail?

Go to your Contacts and select the contacts you want to add. If you need to select multiple contacts, hold the Ctrl key and select each contact to be added. You can also type the alias for each contact, separated by commas, into each recipient field required, and they will be automatically translated into the corresponding addresses.

What is an alias?

An alias is a nickname for each address in your Contact list. This makes remembering and adding contacts to your e-mails easier because you can assign short names to e-mail addresses, which can be difficult to remember or tedious to type out. For example, if you wanted to add your father to your address book, you may enter the alias "Dad". When sending a message to your father, you can add "Dad" to your recipients in place of the full e-mail address.

Is my Contact list private?

Yes. Only you have access to your account, which is protected by your password.
