What is SSL?

SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) is cryptographic protocol that provides safe data transfers on the Internet for e-mails, instant messaging , etc.

How can I get the SSL at www.com?

SSL certificates are not yet avaialable trough www.com but We can install SSL for you free of charge. The procedure is given below, but please note that it will cost you $30 for the dedicated IP address that you will need to have in order to use SSL:

  1. Please submit the ticket to our billing dpt to order ded IP address.
  2. You should get the CSR from us. To generate the CSR, we will need the answers to the following questions :
    • Email Address the Cert will be sent to:
    • Host to make cert for (Make a choice if you want www in front of the domain or not.):
    • Country (2 letter Abbreviation):
    • State:
    • City:
    • Company Name:
    • Company Division:
    • Email:
    • Password:
  3. Now the CSR and the private key will be sent as mail to the address that you have given.
  4. After that you have to contact the SSL vendor with the CSR and the key (that we provide you), and purchase the SSL certificate.Some of the popular SSL vendors are :
    • VeriSign
    • Thawte
    • Instant SSL
    • DigiCert
    • GeoTrust
  5. You should then get back to us with this certificate and we will install it on the server.
  6. Once the SSL is installed for your domain, you can securely access the website using https:// in the URL.

What is SSH?

SSH (Secure Shell) is a secure way of connecting to a server. It involves authentication, encryption, and message authentication, and can be used for more than just shell access. SSH is typically used to log into a remote machine and execute commands.

Do you allow SSH access?

In order to get SSH access you need to submit the ticket to technical support.

I want to transfer my account from previous hosting provider to you, how can I do it?

In order to transfer your account/site from your current hosting provider you should do the following:

  1. Make a full backup of your site in your cPanel;
  2. Go to www.com and order an account with us;
  3. Once your account is active, you will receive a welcome email with all your account information. Then you need to upload backup file into your home directory on www.com server, and to create the ticket to the technical support so we could restore it for you.

In case your current hosting provider does not use cPanel on its servers you will need to create the archives of each part of your account (email, databases, website) and upload to your home directory and after that the technicians will be able to assist you.
